If you asked me what my love language is? I’d tell you it’s words of affirmation.
So when my husband suggested that our December challenge be all about giving each other praise… I was like “HECK YEAH”!
Although I’d be lying if I didn’t wonder if this is just a way for him to introduce his love language challenge next. Which would be all about affection.
I’m sure you can guess where a male’s mind would go with that kind of challenge. Ahem.
You know that feeling when someone graciously gives you a compliment? Or when someone praises you for the things you do? Doesn’t it feel so good?!?!
For me, it feels like I have a purpose and my purpose is making a difference in someone else’s life. It just feels good to be appreciated and affirmed. I think anyone can agree with that.
The Challenge
Since December is the month of “giving” we thought it would be fun to incorporate that into our challenge this month.
That’s when Jeff Rose came up with… The Giving Praise Challenge!
This challenge is 22 days of giving praise to your spouse.

What You Need To Do
Write down one positive thing about your spouse each day and share it with them because they deserve to hear it! A perfect opportunity to share it would be during your “Catch Me Up Chat”. (Find out more about The Love Habits here).
Of course, we made it easy for you by creating a FREE worksheet to help you stay focused.
Download it here.
Let’s Do This
Can’t wait for you to join us! Make sure to share with us how it’s going. We’d love to follow along via social media. Just tag us @dollarsandroses and use the hashtag #PraiseYourSpouse.
You can even share what your praise is for the day.
Here, I’ll start.
Day 1: I love my husband’s ability to recognize when we are feeling distant and make an effort to try and feel close. Last night was busy and rushed. I had a headache and the boys were very needy. Needless to say, I went to bed early and Jeff stayed up watching sports on tv. This morning before he left for the office he snatched me up from my computer chair and slow danced with me in the living room. It only took 2 minutes, but that distant feeling instantly vanished. I love that he has a way of making things better by doing something sweet. #PraiseYourSpouse
See, I could have just enjoyed our dance this morning and not said a word. But instead, I’m telling him how much it meant to me. How much it made an impact and how much I love when he does stuff like that. Hopefully that will encourage him to do more things like that.
Now go praise away.
Happy praising!
