Grant and Sheila are good friends of ours that have a thriving marriage of 14 years despite dealing with challenges that many couples face. We’re excited they could join us to share their journey and the keys to making their marriage work.
Grant and Sheila are I guess what you can call “high school sweethearts”… Sheila being older, was basically Grant’s personal Uber driver before Uber was ever even a thing. Today, they’ve been together for over 19 years and still like each other.
Young and in love, being married for 19 years, there was no google or online course to try and make your marriage work. For them, the main advantage to making their marriage work has just been the reality that they really grew up together. After seeing each of their parents get divorced, they’ve been through seasons of life together that have motivated and shaped their marriage to what it is today.
One big change we’re talking about on this episode is the Baldwin’s big move. Last year the Baldwin’s took the plunge and moved to Nashville from Missouri… never living anywhere outside of Missouri, they basically on a whim sold their home and moved.
Moving forced them to learn a new routine, one that was depended on each other and not necessarily family or babysitters and usual comforts. Moving created a positive shift in their marriage that was a total adventure but also a really good growing experience.
Tune in as we talk all things premarital counseling, raising our kids to understand the commitment of marriage and balancing the lifestyle of traveling spouses.
