Did you hear the news!? We’re adopting and we’ve officially have a referral! It’s been a long journey, but we’ve seen her face and we are working towards finalizing all the paperwork to bring her home!
When we tell people that we are adopting, we usually either get a funny look of confusion, a surprised look of “Wow, you are brave!” or this question…
“You’re adopting a what? Like a dog?”
When we explain that, “We are “like” adopting a child {not a dog}.” we are most often asked this…
Why?
It’s been the hardest question to answer because, unless you are a believer in Jesus, our answer is difficult to comprehend.

I stumbled on your podcast and liked it. It was interesting that one of the few I listened to so far was on your adoption news.
Congrats on your upcoming adoption. My wife and I adopted two girlies 14 years ago (Wow, I had to do math for that..) and our lives and our sons lives were blessed. One bit of advice – and I think you are already there so let me reaffirm this. Let your daughter tell her own story in her own time. Once you tell people some of the sometimes sordid details, you can never take them back. We can share your joy and love without knowing the backstory.
